OUR NEW LIMITED EDITION ADRIATICO X CARONI RUM CASK

It all started in 2017 at WHISKY LIVE when Jean-Robert Bellanger and Thomas Benoit, the two founders of ADRIATICO, met Italian Luca Gargano, owner of the VELIER house. Before the closure of this state-owned distillery in Trinidad and Tobago in 2003, the famous merchant with an unparalleled flair bought back part of the stock of barrels of this molasses rum with inimitable characteristics. Today, CARONI has become an exotic gem for many collectors.
As enthusiasts of Italy and exceptional spirits, the three men decided to combine the flavors of this liqueur with the roasted and salted almonds of ADRIATICO with the atypical scents of this rare and characterful Caribbean rum. Luca Gargano granted three Caroni barrels dating from 1996 for this experiment.
During 12 months, the almond distillate in "Full Proof" version, rested, under the Italian climate and the attentive look of the three producers, in the three barrels of this star distillery of rum. At the end of this ageing process, various aromatic ingredients characteristic of ADRIATICO were delicately added to all the casks before the ultimate stage of bottling. Namely: infusions of cinnamon, coffee and cocoa and a touch of Adriatic fleur de sel.
The result? A surprising amaretto with roasted and salty flavors with a finish of this rum with a complex character.

Caution! ADRIATICO Roasted Almonds X CARONI Cask Aged is launched in a limited edition of 1500 bottles with an elegant black and orange label, a negative version of the original ADRIATICO label, with the characteristic orange line of the CARONI brand.
